Welcome to Dimmitjam.com!  I am a single, sixty-something Baby Boomer, who has had an interesting, fulfilling life and an upwardly-mobile, challenging career in business.  I have seen a lot of the world and racked up my share of successes.  I have given speeches to large crowds and administrated international meetings, through an interpreter.  I’ve logged my share of time on the corporate jet.  Heady stuff, in a way.

I left it all to start my own small automotive maintenance business and for awhile it was exactly what I hoped it would be.  I worked hard and the business grew.  Within three years, we doubled the number of retail outlets.  Then, the economy fell apart, gas went to four dollars a gallon, which meant people drove less and visited our stores less often.  Costs from suppliers skyrocketed and I couldn’t pass them on to the consumer.   I closed the business.

I’m back to square one – not exactly the American Dream and I’m struggling – sending resumes daily and hoping the phone will ring.

I’m going to post my thoughts here.  My thoughts about the journey, so far and ideas to get back on track.  I’ll talk about my frustrations and hopefully a few successes.  By the way, I’m interested in feedback
